Dmitry Donskov, Head of International Projects of CCM Group visited the annual main event in the oil and gas industry in the Far East of Russian Federation - the «Sakhalin Oil and Gas conference 2020".
The key issues of this year's conference were the post-crisis recovery of oil and gas industry, sustainable development of industry and work transformation in the terms of a pandemic - these were new approaches to work process and new safety standards.
As expected, the speakers discussed the necessity not only to support the oil and gas industry development, but also to make a gentle transition to alternative environmentally friendly energy resources such as liquefied gas and hydrogen fuel.
Sakhalin region is already developing the use of liquefied gas as a NGV fuel and plans to develop the fueling infrastructure and convert more cars to liquefied gas. Also the issue of switching the region's railroad transport to use liquefied gas as a NGV fuel is being discussed. The regional government positioned Sakhalin as an area where the state, together with oil and gas companies operating on Sakhalin, will develop and implement advanced technologies for alternative energy generation. For this purpose, a scientific cluster will be developed in Sakhalin on the base of Sakhalin University, which will train specialists studying climate, "green" energy and oceans.
The main event of the conference was the signing of agreements with companies - future residents of Sakhalin Oil and Gas Industrial Park - a special economic zone for service enterprises of the region's oil and gas industry, serving, for example, offshore projects. The first residents were chosen by the Sakhalin region Government and invited to participate in the conference.
"I was very glad to visit this conference and discuss the measures to ensure the safety of employees at remote sites in pandemic conditions with colleagues. We had something to share in this regard - we have been working on the Covid-19 disease management system at remote industrial sites for almost a year. Besides, we managed to hold a number of face-to-face meetings with the heads of industrial enterprises of marine and shelf area of Sakhalin, to reach agreements on future partnership. We are also interested in participating in a tender for the support of a medical center within Sakhalin Industrial Park, and we will do our best" — said Dmitry Donskov.
