St. Petersburg State University of Economics (SPBGU), together with the Institute of Remote Healthcare (Tomsk), conducted the first remote educational course in Russia: Remote Healthcare: Organization and Development Prospects in the Russian Federation.
The project brought together the efforts of specialists from the Association of Institute of Remote Health, the Higher Economic School of St. Petersburg State University of Economics , Institute of Remote Healthcare – IRHC (UK). The course was attended by organizers of health care, heads of medical services of industrial enterprises and energy companies, management of commercial medical institutions, as well as students of the program "Management of health organizations" of St. Petersburg State University of Economics.
More than 50 participants from various regions of our country got an opportunity to learn the key issues and problems in the field of remote health care, about 30 listeners were directly present in the audience and more than 20 participated – remotely. Sustainable broadcast of reports and presentations from Scotland, Finland, Sakhalin and the possibility of conducting a dialogue between the audience and the speakers in real time were provided by the specialists of CCM from Tomsk and Moscow.
Among the key speakers there were the president of the non-profit organization Association of the Institute for Remote Healthcare, Professor Sergey Antipov, the vice-president of the Association Konstantin Shatokhin , the president and the founder of the Institute of Remote healthcare Professor Nelson Norman , head of the medical service of " Gazprom Neft Shelf" Mikhail Romanov , the coordinator of the working group of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of health of the working population Dmitri Efremov , executive director of the Testing Laboratory " SibProfStandart " Master M.Sc . of Tel Aviv University of Industrial Hygiene Ilya Polyakov , Head of the Department of the Central Clinic of the University of Helsinki, MD, PhD Boris Karpov , Chief Cardiologist of the Siberian Federal Research and Clinical Center of the FMBA of Russia, doctor of medical science Julia Semenova, director of NGO "Association" Institute for Remote Health "Professor Andrey Karpov .
"Now the medical service at remote sites is actually extremely emergency assistance, while we believe that this should be a holistic, evidence-based life support system, which includes, along with the medical component, a rational system of nutrition and rest, psychophysiological testing and psychophysiological monitoring conditions of a person, effective recovery of an employee after a working period, as well as a comprehensive analysis of factors acting on personnel (professional behavioral, environmental ) and their effects. Of course, the strategic goal of developing such a system is the prevention of major diseases, the reduction of socio-economic losses related injuries, disability and premature mortality and prolongation of working longevity", – said Andrey Karpov .
He noticed that this is the first such course in Russia, and the association is planning to expand it, adding new theoretical questions and supplementing it with practical training.
